John Mathews
Founder, Director
John Mathews is the Founder and Director of CT Wolves Lacrosse and the current Head Coach at Greens Farms Academy. He has achieved 5 State Championships in 8 years; 3 at Fairfield Prep as Offensive Coordinator and 2 at Weston High School as Head Coach. Coach Mathews has also led Greens Farms Academy to two FAA Championships. As a player, he won a National Championship at Syracuse and reached the “Final Four” all four years. Coach Mathews believes in a blue-collar and palms-down mentality in both his coaching approach and his players’ performance, emphasizing hard work, focusing on details, and trusting in results. Additionally, he serves as a Board Member for Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse and is the current Tech Coach for Fairfield Youth Lacrosse.

Gina Little
Director of Communications
Gina Little joined the Wolves family to enhance communications, team management, and administrative operations. Her passion for sports developed during her extensive experience with the Montreal Expos, where she excelled in marketing, community relations, and special events. Gina studied business at McGill University in Montreal and completed an MBA at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Her connection to the Wolves stems from her son Maddux’s participation in the club for many years, culminating in his current pursuit of lacrosse at Hamilton College. Gina’s marketing background, wealth of sports expertise and dedication to organizational excellence make her instrumental to the Wolves organization.

Dave Breza
Coach
Dave Breza, a UMASS Amherst alumnus, excelled as a defenseman and LSM for the Minutemen. Originally from Fairfield County, Connecticut, he began his lacrosse journey at Fairfield Prep. Coach Breza prioritizes athleticism, emphasizing sports intelligence, strength, speed, and agility as crucial for elite lacrosse development. Specializing in defensive strategy, he focuses on positioning and footwork, contributing significantly to the CT Wolves’ youth program.

Jacob Dauz
Coach
Jacob Dauz grew up playing lacrosse in Newtown, where he captained the high school team and earned All-State and All-Conference honors. He went on to play at both Division I and Division III programs, starting at Providence College and later at SUNY Cortland. During his time at SUNY Cortland, the team won the SUNY Conference Championship and were the 2012 Division III Runner-Ups. After college, Coach Dauz continued his involvement in lacrosse by coaching in the Newtown and Fairfield Youth programs.

Kevin Donovan
Coach
Kevin Donovan is entering his second year as Assistant Coach at Quinnipiac University, with over 15 years of diverse coaching experience. A Connecticut native, he played high school at Choate before attending Lehigh University, where he helped secure the school’s first Patriot League Championship. He also attended McGill University while serving as Offensive Coordinator for the Redbirds. After a decade in Los Angeles, he founded a club program that has helped 43 players reach NCAA Division 1 status and coached at several prestigious schools. Outside of California, coach Donovan was appointed as the National Club Head Coach and Recruiting Director for LI Sting National. Additionally, he held the position of Offensive Coordinator for the Netherlands National Team. Passionate about lacrosse, Coach Donovan is dedicated to empowering the next generation through coaching and providing a great experience.

Nick Kammerman
Coach
Nick Kammerman, a former goalie from Fairfield Prep, played at Union College and served as Captain. He was Defensive Coordinator and Assistant Coach at Weston High School for 3 years, leading the team to a State Championship in 2010. He then served 4 years as Defensive Coordinator at Trumbull High School. He is the son of John Kammerman, one of the founders of CONNY.

Will Katts
Coach
Will Katts is currently the Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Loomis Chaffee Boys Varsity Lacrosse team. He graduated top of his class from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in sports administration. Coach Katts has also coached at Durham Academy, where he learned from former Duke Lacrosse Coach Jon Lantzy and helped lead the team to the North Carolina State Semifinals. Additionally, he serves as Loomis Chaffee’s Sports Information Director.

Matt Read
Coach
Matt Read, a former goalkeeper, played at Londonderry (NH) and the University of New Hampshire. He began coaching as an assistant at his former high school and later served as Head Coach of Merrimack College’s DII Lacrosse team, earning NEILA Coach of the Year honors. After coaching a non-profit high school varsity team for Metro Lacrosse in Boston, Coach Read has been coaching at Shelton High School in Connecticut since 2010. He also spent time with Lax for Wishes (Make-A-Wish), helping raise funds for the organization.

Vin Ricca
Coach
Vin Ricca was a leading defenseman at Western Connecticut State University and Branford High School. With over nine years of coaching experience across various age groups, he has led youth programs in Fairfield, Milford, Stamford, and Ridgefield. Coach Ricca’s commitment to player development and extensive knowledge of the game will greatly benefit our program at CT Wolves.

Matt Rice
Coach
Matt Rice is a standout Senior SSDM at Fairfield University, where he excels both on the lacrosse field and in the classroom. In 2024, he earned the prestigious Academic All-District honor from College Sports Communicators, highlighting his dedication to academic and athletic excellence. Originally from Maryland, he attended Loyola Blakefield High School, where he developed into an elite player. This will be Coach Rice’s second season with CT Wolves. He also has experience as a player and a coach with the Crabs Lacrosse Club, a leading program in the nation.

Matt Slowik
Coach
Matt Slowick grew up playing lacrosse in Virginia and went on to play at The Peddie School in New Jersey as an LSM and defenseman, earning All-State honors for two years. Coach Slowick is a coach and coordinator for Madison Youth Lacrosse and serves on the board of the organization.

Eric Smith
Coach
Eric Smith was a four-year member of the University of Vermont lacrosse team, where he served as captain for two years. He has over eight years of experience coaching youth lacrosse for the club team “RC” based out of San Diego. Additionally, he spent three seasons as head coach for the West Coast Stars club team, also based in San Diego. Eric has also been involved in coaching multiple youth programs in Connecticut, including one year in Norwalk, one year in Wilton, and several years in Ridgefield.

Colin Steele
Coach
Colin Steele played attack and midfield for Xavier High School, earning All-Conference and All-State honors and setting a school points record that held for a decade. After attending Providence College, Coach Steele returned to his alma mater to coach at Xavier, focusing on player development and supporting the varsity team in playoffs. He later coached for Middletown Youth Lacrosse and led the 8U, 10U, and 12U teams for Haddam-Killingworth Youth Lacrosse. Currently, he is the HK Youth Boys Program Director.
